NEW Testament; Luke 24:
44 He said to them, "This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms." 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high."
OLD Testament; Deuteronomy 4 (the Law of Moses):
39 Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the LORD is God (= "I AM WHO I AM" or: "I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE" is Gods) in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. 40 Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time.
Deuteronomy 5 (the Law of Moses):
2 The LORD our God (= "I AM WHO I AM" our Gods) made a covenant with us at Horeb. 3 It was not with our
fathers that the LORD
made this covenant, but with us, with all of us who are alive here today. 4
The LORD spoke to
you face to face
out of the fire on the mountain
NEW Testament; John 1:
17 For the law was given through Moses;
grace and truth
came through Jesus Christ. 18
No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only,
who is at the Father's side, has
made him known.
1 Samuel 16:
14 Now the Spirit of the LORD (= "I AM WHO I AM" or: "I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE") had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD (= "I AM WHO I AM" or: "I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE") tormented him.
Matthew 4:
1 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit (= not the Holy Spirit) into the desert to be tempted by the devil.... 8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me (= $atan had the power to do this!)." 10 Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: `Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."
1 Corinthians 12:
7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom,... 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits,... 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.
OLD Testament; Ecclesiastes 12 (= Solomon's wisdom):
10 The Teacher (= Solomon) searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true. 11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails (= The crucifixion of Christ)--given by one Shepherd (= $atan or one of the two LORDS).
Proverbs 8 (= Solomon's wisdom):
14 Counsel and sound judgment are mine (= Solomon's wisdom); I have understanding and power. 15 By me kings reign and rulers make laws that are just; 16 by me princes govern, and all nobles who rule on earth (= Freemasons?). 17 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. 18 With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity. 19 My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver. 20 I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice, 21 bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full. 22 "The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; 23 I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began. 24 When there were no oceans, I was given birth, when there were no springs abounding with water; 25 before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was given birth, 26 before he made the earth or its fields or any of the dust of the world. 27 I was there when he set the heavens in place, when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep, 28 when he established the clouds above and fixed securely the fountains of the deep, 29 when he gave the sea its boundary so the waters would not overstep his command, and when he marked out the foundations of the earth. 30 Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, 31 rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind.
Proverbs 13 (= Solomon's wisdom):
12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Proverbs 16 (= Solomon's wisdom):
26 The laborer's appetite works for him; his hunger drives him on.
Proverbs 18 (= Solomon's wisdom):
23 A poor man pleads for mercy, but a rich man answers harshly. 24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (= Jesus).
Proverbs 19 (= Solomon's wisdom):
5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will not go free. 6 Many curry favor with a ruler, and everyone is the friend of a man who gives gifts. 7 A poor man is shunned by all his relatives-- how much more do his friends avoid him! Though he pursues them with pleading, they are nowhere to be found. 8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; he who cherishes understanding prospers. 9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who pours out lies will perish. 10 It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury-- how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!
Proverbs 20 (= Solomon's wisdom):
24 A man's steps are directed by the LORD.
How then can anyone understand his own way?
25 It is a trap for a man to dedicate something rashly
and only later to consider his vows.
(= Deuteronomy 11:
18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them
for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.)
1 Kings 10:
14 The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents (= about 25 tons), 15 not including the revenues from merchants and traders and from all the Arabian kings and the governors of the land.
2 Chronicles 9:
13 The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was 666 talents, 14 not including the revenues brought in by merchants and traders.
OLD Testament; Daniel 7:
2 Daniel said: "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four
winds of heaven churning up the great sea. 3 Four great beasts, each different from
the others, came up out of the sea.
4 "The first was like a lion (= (d)evil), and it had the wings of an eagle
(= two wings or LORDS united as one). I watched until its wings
were torn off and it was lifted
from the ground so that it stood on two feet like a man, and the heart of a man was given to it.
(= Daniel 9:27:
...and on a wing of horror, shall come destruction,
even until the end, decided to pour-out upon the desolate...)
Micah 5:
8 The remnant of Jacob will be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples, like a lion among the beasts of the forest, like a young lion among flocks of sheep, which mauls and mangles as it goes, and no one can rescue. 9 Your hand will be lifted up in triumph over your enemies, and all your foes will be destroyed. 10 "In that day," declares the LORD, "I will destroy your horses from among you and demolish your chariots. 11 I will destroy the cities of your land and tear down all your strongholds. 12 I will destroy your witchcraft and you will no longer cast spells. 13 I will destroy your carved images and your sacred stones from among you; you will no longer bow down to the work of your hands. 14 I will uproot from among you your Asherah poles and demolish your cities. 15 I will take vengeance in anger and wrath upon the nations that have not obeyed me."
Genesis 49:
9 You are a lion's cub, O Judah; you return from the prey, my son. Like a lion he crouches and lies down, like a lioness--who dares to rouse him? 10The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs (= Solomon) and the obedience of the nations is his.
Psalms 91:
13 You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
1 Kings 10:
18 Then the king (= SOLOmON) made a great throne inlaid with ivory and overlaid with fine gold. 19 The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them. 20 Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom. 21 All King Solomon's goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold.
Psalms 10:
9 He lies in wait like a lion in cover; he lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
Proverbs 19 (= Solomon's wisdom):
12 A king's rage (= King Solomon) is like the roar of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
Proverbs 20 (= Solomon's wisdom):
2 A king's wrath is like the roar of a lion; he who angers him forfeits his life.
Proverbs 28 (= Solomon's wisdom):
15 Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked man ruling over a helpless people.
Jeremiah 4:
5 "Announce in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem and say: `Sound the trumpet throughout the land!' Cry aloud and say: `Gather together! Let us flee to the fortified cities!' 6 Raise the signal to go to Zion! Flee for safety without delay! For I am bringing disaster from the north, even terrible destruction." 7 A lion has come out of his lair; a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his place to lay waste your land. Your towns will lie in ruins without inhabitant.
Ezekiel 1:
4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north--an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal (= UFO or spaceship?),
5 and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. In appearance their form was that of a man, 6 but each of them had four faces and four wings. 7 Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze. 8 Under their wings on their four sides they had the hands of a man. All four of them had faces and wings, 9 and their wings touched one another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved. 10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a man, and on the right side each had the face of a lion (= (d)evil), and on the left the face of an ox (= g(o)od); each also had the face of an eagle (= g(o)od AND (d)evil). 11 Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out upward; each had two wings (= two Lords united as one), one touching the wing (= Daniel 9:27: ...and on a wing of horror, shall come destruction, even until the end, decided to pour-out upon the desolate...) of another creature on either side, and two wings covering its body. 12 Each one went straight ahead. Wherever the spirit would go, they would go, without turning as they went.
Ezekiel 19:
1 "Take up a lament concerning the princes of Israel 2 and say: "What a lioness was your mother among the lions! She lay down among the young lions and reared her cubs. 3 She brought up one of her cubs, and he became a strong lion. He learned to tear the prey and he devoured men. 4 The nations heard about him, and he was trapped in their pit. They led him with hooks to the land of Egypt. 5 "When she saw her hope unfulfilled, her expectation gone, she took another of her cubs and made him a strong lion. 6 He prowled among the lions, for he was now a strong lion. He learned to tear the prey and he devoured men. 7 He broke down their strongholds and devastated their towns. The land and all who were in it were terrified by his roaring. 8 Then the nations came against him, those from regions round about. They spread their net for him, and he was trapped in their pit. 9 With hooks they pulled him into a cage and brought him to the king of Babylon. They put him in prison, so his roar was heard no longer on the mountains of Israel.
Hosea 11:
For I am God(s), and not man-- the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath. 10 They will follow the LORD; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.
Hosea 13:
5 I cared for you in the desert, in the land of burning heat. 6 When I fed them, they were satisfied; when they were satisfied, they became proud; then they forgot me. 7 So I will come upon them like a lion, like a leopard I will lurk by the path. 8 Like a bear robbed of her cubs, I will attack them and rip them open. Like a lion I will devour them; a wild animal will tear them apart. 9 "You are destroyed, O Israel, because you are against me, against your helper. 10 Where is your king, that he may save you? Where are your rulers in all your towns, of whom you said, `Give me a king and princes'? 11 So in my anger I gave you a king, and in my wrath I took him away.
Jeremiah 25
30 "Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them: "The LORD will roar from on high; he will thunder from his holy dwelling and roar mightily against his land. He will shout like those who tread the grapes, shout against all who live on the earth. 31 The tumult will resound to the ends of the earth, for the LORD will bring charges against the nations; he will bring judgment on all mankind and put the wicked to the sword," declares the LORD.
Amos 1:
2 He said: "The LORD roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds dry up, and the top of Carmel withers."
Amos 3:
7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets. 8 The lion has roared-- who will not fear? The Sovereign LORD has spoken-- who can but prophesy?
Isaiah 31:
4 This is what the LORD (= "I WILL BE WHO I WILL BE") says to me: "As a lion growls, a great lion over his prey-- and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against him, he is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor-- so the LORD Almighty (= the WAR-LORD) will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights. 5 Like birds (= spaceships) hovering overhead, the LORD Almighty (= the WAR-LORD) will shield Jerusalem; he will shield it and deliver it, he will `pass over' it and will rescue it."
Isaiah 14:
3 On the day the LORD gives you relief from suffering and turmoil and cruel bondage,
4 you will take up this taunt (= caricature, mockery, scoff, sneer)
against the king of Babylon:
...12 How you have fallen from heaven,
O morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!
13 You said in your heart,
"I will ascend to heaven;
I will raise my throne
above the stars of God;
I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain.
14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High."
15 But you are brought down to the grave,
to the depths of the pit.
(= A name used of Satan--"Lucifer," or "morning star,"--comes
from this verse. The word Lucifer refers to Venus ( ...and Jesus? That sets on thinking!), one of the
brightest objects in the sky.
In context, Isaiah was describing the cruelly oppressive king of
Babylon, who swelled with pride but would be brought down to defeat.
However, Isaiah may be hinting at a force behind the human king:
Satan himself. Isaiah's metaphor of the faded morning star aptly
describes the eclipse of the haughty king of Babylon--and of Satan (= the (d)evil LORD himself) on
earth.)
2 Timothy 4:
17 But the Lord stood at my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion's mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 5:
8 Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 4:
In the center, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered
with eyes, in front and in back. 7 The first living creature was like a lion (= (d)evil),
the second was like an ox (= g(o)od), the third had a face like a man (= Jesus (good) or Solomon (evil)), the fourth was like a
flying eagle (= g(o)od AND (d)evil). 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings (= 4x6=24) and was covered with eyes
all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying:
"Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come."
Revelation 5:
5 Then one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep! See, the Lion (= Solomon and (d)evil) of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals." 6 Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth. 7 He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. 8 And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb
Revelation 12:
7 And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. 8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven (Beware: the story continues!). 9 The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. 10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ..... 12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens (= the universe) and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.
Revelation 13:
1 And the drag-on (= devil) stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. 2 The beast I saw resembled a leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. The dragon gave the beast his power and his throne and great authority. 3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast. 4 Men worshiped the dragon because he had given authority to the beast, and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?" 5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months (= 1260 days = 3½ years). 6 He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. 8 All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast (= $atan or one of the two LORDS) --all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. 9 He who has an ear, let him hear.
Revelation 20:
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison (= the universe) and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth--Gog and Magog--to gather them for battle (= Star Wars). In number they are like the sand on the seashore. 9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them . And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur (= the universe), where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever (= Cold War in the universe?).
OLD Testament; Joel 2:
1 Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy hill. Let all who live in the land tremble, for the day of the LORD (= the (d)evil) is coming. It is close at hand-- 2 a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was of old nor ever will be in ages to come. 3 Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste-- nothing escapes them. 4 They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry. 5 With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle. 6 At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale. 7 They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers. They all march in line, not swerving from their course. 8 They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead. They plunge through defenses without breaking ranks. 9 They rush upon the city; they run along the wall. They climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows. 10 Before them the earth shakes, the sky trembles, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine. 11 The LORD (= the (d)evil) thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty are those who obey his command. The day of the LORD (= the (d)evil) is great; it is dreadful. Who can endure it?
Joel 3:
5 For you took my silver and my gold and carried off my finest treasures to your temples. 6 You sold the people of Judah and Jerusalem to the Greeks, that you might send them far from their homeland. 7 "See, I am going to rouse them out of the places to which you sold them, and I will return on your own heads what you have done. 8 I will sell your sons and daughters to the people of Judah, and they will sell them to the Sabeans, a nation far away." The LORD has spoken. 9 Proclaim this among the nations: Prepare for war! Rouse the warriors! Let all the fighting men draw near and attack. 10 Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weakling say, "I am strong!" 11 Come quickly, all you nations from every side, and assemble there. Bring down your warriors, O LORD! (= the (d)evil) 12 "Let the nations be roused; let them advance into the Valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit ...
